I know this is a hella old vid, but I think I'm still hung up on something... IIUC, the crux of the issue is phase rotation around crossovers. Those are present in OTT, but from what I can tell PRO-MB in Dynamic Mode will also introduce phase rotation as the gain changes. So why is it ok there but not in OTT?

The most important part is how the rest of your mix sits around the kick, that's what can create the contrast to make it sound punchy or deep or whatever
